Abduction

Tall slender beings with pale green skin and narrow eyes; performed brief physical examination aboard craft

On the morning of May 10, 1978, Jan Wolski, a 71-year-old farmer from the village of Emilcin in the Lublin region of communist-era Poland, reported one of Eastern Europe's most complete close encounter accounts. According to Wolski's detailed description, he was riding his horse-drawn cart through a forest road when he encountered two beings beside the path — described as tall, slender, with pale green facial features, narrow slanted eyes, and wearing dark tight-fitting suits. The beings communicated with each other in an incomprehensible language and invited Wolski by gesture to accompany them to a nearby hovering craft — a large white vehicle that rested in the air above a clearing, accessible via what Wolski described as a rotating external elevator or steps. He agreed and boarded. Inside, he described a chamber with a ceiling illuminated but with no visible light source. The beings conducted a brief examination, running instruments over his body, before returning him to the ground. The craft then departed silently. Wolski was considered a reliable, credible witness by those who investigated — a straightforward rural farmer with no apparent interest in science fiction or UAP lore. Polish researchers Bohdan Sektecki and Waldemar Błaszczyk conducted extensive interviews. A number of other Emilcin villagers reported seeing an unusual white craft in the area on the same morning, providing independent corroboration. The case gained additional attention when, in 2005, the village of Emilcin erected a commemorative monument at the site — a grey figure on a plinth with an inscription translating as: "In 1978 in Emilcin a UFO object landed. The truth will astonish us in the future." The monument was erected with local government support — unusual for a post-Soviet Eastern European country.
